Your product claims to recover deleted data from my iPhone. How much can it recover?
How much deleted data is recovered is dependent on how much new information has been written to your phone since the data you want to recover was deleted.

Since all logical recovery software functions in a similar way, you might only be able to recover part of the data you need.

How can I get updates of the new application (for bug fixes and enhancements)?
We update the software periodically. To ensure you have the latest version, we recommend you click on the ‘Check for Updates’ button on the main GUI screen each time you run the software to ensure you have the latest version of the software.

Do I need to have my phone PIN/Password?
Yes, you must have the PIN / Password for the locked phone before performing a recovery. The MobilePhone Recovery does not unlock the handset ahead of recovering data – the handset must be unlocked prior to recovering data. If your phone has been unlocked when connected to iTunes, the input of a PIN /

Password is not normally necessary.

Will the software recover from a damaged handset?
Yes and No. The phone needs to be functional and connected if you wish to recover directly from the handset. It is possible however, to recover from the latest iTunes backup file stored on your PC without having the iPhone device connected.

Does your software require the iPhone to be jail broken?
No, our software does not require your iPhone to be jail broken. In addition, the software will not jailbreak your iPhone.

Compatibility:

I have an iPhone 5. Is the product compatible with this model?
Yes, the MobilePhone Recovery is compatible with the latest iPhone 5 handset and iOS 6.1.2.

I have updated my iOS to the latest version. Is the product compatible with the latest iOS?
Yes, SmartPhone Recovery is constantly updated to ensure it is compatible the latest version of iOS released by Apple. Currently the software is compatible with iOS 6.1.2.

Which version of Windows is the MobilePhone Recovery compatible with?

The software is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 and Windows 8. Please ensure all service packs are correct and up to date.

Will the MobilePhone Recovery work on an iPad?
Yes it will work but the data found is limited to the features of the iPad in comparison to the iPhone – for example the recovery of SMS text messages may be limited since iPads do not have a standard text messaging service.

Connecting your Device to your PC:

When I connect the iPhone to my PC and run the iPhone application, it says "Unable to retrieve device information. Please make sure the iPhone is connected".
This message is commonly displayed if the iPhone has not been registered with the copy of iTunes installed on the PC in use. Please disconnect the iPhone from the USB cable and reconnect, also ensure the iPhone is unlocked when registering the iPhone with iTunes.

I receive a message: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application"
If you are receiving this error message, you need to install the .NET framework from: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=17153

The software is free and available direct from Microsoft.

The iPhone doesn’t connect to the computer. What do I do?
Please try one of the following:

• Download and install (or reinstall) the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime
• Recharge your iPhone battery
• Disconnect other USB devices from your PC and connect the iPhone to a different USB 2.0 port on your computer
• Turn the iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake icon on the top of the iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake icon until the Apple™ logo appears
• Restart your computer and reconnect the iPhone to your PC

Which deleted data types can I recover using the MobilePhone Recovery?
You can recover deleted SMS, Contacts, Call History, Notes and Calendar Items.

Which existing data types can I view using the MobilePhone Recovery?
With the MobilePhone Recovery, you can view existing SMS/Text Messages, Contacts, Call Log, Internet History, Map History*, Calendar Items, Device Properties, Notes, User Dictionary and Photos directly from your iPhone or from an iTunes backup file on your PC. *Please note Map History support may be limited for devices running on iOS 6 and later.

Can I export the data I have retrieved and/or recovered?
Yes, you can export all data (except Photos) to Excel and export photos to your local drive.

I have selected Recovery but I do not see the data I know I deleted.
The iPhone has a limited number of memory locations that messages can be saved in. For the most part, these are taken up by the messages still saved on the phone. If you only see a few ‘recovered’ messages, this is because the phone is either full with other data or the messages have been overwritten. Running the MobilePhone Recovery multiple times or using another product will not recover any more data than the MobilePhone Recovery has already recovered.

I cannot retrieve any information from the iPhone or iTunes backup file
Please ensure that you have not selected the ‘Encrypt Backup’ option in iTunes. If you have this option enabled, you will need to disable the ‘Encrypt Backup’ option within iTunes and perform a new backup. Any backups created with the option enabled cannot be opened with the software. Also please select the PC option which looks at all iTunes backup files, our software duplicates backup files and there is a possibility this will display data not shown.

Where can I find my iPhone/iTunes backup file?
The default location for iTunes and iPhone backup files can be found at:

<drive letter:>users<user name>AppDataRoamingApple ComputerMobileSyncBackup

For example:- "C:UsersJohnAppDataRoamingApple ComputerMobileSyncBackup"

Can I use the MobilePhone Recovery to transfer data back to my device?
No, the software can be used to retrieve, recover and export data found by the software to your PC but it cannot be used to transfer or restore data back to your device.

Software Upgrade and Activation:

I have paid for the full version of the software but it is still showing as a trial version
Please ensure that you have manually activated your software with an activation code by selecting ‘Upgrade to Full Version’ on the software licence screen. Please enter your activation code, email address and a unique password for your software to register your activation code. This will provide you with access to the full version of the software.

I cannot remember my password to reactivate my software
If you need to reactivate your software and cannot remember your password, you can request it be sent to the email address which you registered your activation code with upon purchase. Please note that too many incorrect password attempts will place your code into lockout mode for security reasons.
