This article will show you that it is possible to get real time split screen video surveillance for four hidden cameras. It is possible to use more hidden cameras but four is generally required by most home or small business owners to satisfy their covert surveillance needs.
To start with you need some minor hardware experience. All you need to know how to do is open your desktop or tower PC and add a PCI card into any available slot. The PC card you’ll need is shown below.

GV-800 4 Channel Real Time GeoVision DVR Card. This DVR card is used in digital video recorders which allow video to be viewed remotely over the Internet.
The GV-800-4 is a 4 channel digital video card, meaning it can be hooked up with 4 colored or B/W cameras, with 120 frames per second. The monitor will be split into 4 screens depicting the view of each of the 4 hidden cameras.
Other key features include a motion detection chip, high resolution imaging, pan/tilt/zoom control panel, a built in web server and audio recording.

You can access the video from your hidden cameras while on the road from your laptop or PDA! We make it just that easy! To calculate frame rate per camera simply divide total FPS by quantity of cameras. If you currently have a small hard drive, the software will also allow you to adjust the frame rate for each camera individually. For example when using 7 cameras with the GV-800 DVR card, you would divide 120 by 4 so each camera is operating at about 30 FPS.
The GV-800 card come with the surveillance software needed to do everything. The cards also have the needed video inputs. The wireless receivers from the wireless cameras would be connected to the DVR card. Just choose the style of hidden cameras that suit your needs for covert viewing. After installing the card and software you would change the settings and let the program know he wants to remote view the cameras. The program will give him the IP address to access the cameras from any computer. It’s best to use an ISP that can give you a static IP so that your Internet address doesn’t change. If that’s not possible, you will have to define the new IP address in the software when your ISP changes it, if ever.
The hidden camera will then transmit video surveillance to the receiver that comes with it. The allowable distance from hidden camera to the receiver is about 1,000 feet so it will work well in a home as well as a small business.
