“That’s the third time this week that one of my pictures has gone missing,” Carrie shrieked. John tried to eat his salmon in peace, but his new wife wouldn’t let the subject drop. “I told you that when I moved in with you, we would have to talk about whether Daisy could stay on as our housekeeper.”
“She’s been with me for years,” John replied, “And little Michaela just turned three. It wouldn’t be right.”
“Still,” Carrie said, “you’ve got to do something about this theft. If it’s picture frames today, what will it be tomorrow?”
“I’m still not sure where your picture frames are going,” said John, “but give me one week to prove that Daisy’s innocent. If I’m wrong, I’ll let her go immediately. Deal?”
“Deal,” said Carrie.
John wasn’t rich, but he earned a good living. Before he met Carrie, he hired Daisy to clean up after him for a few hours every day. In fact, it was John’s neat house that got Carrie interested in him in the first place. He was determined to make sure his trusted housekeeper got a fair shake.
The next day, John replaced the DVD Player in the living room with the DVR Hidden Camera.
He had thought about buying it later on, when he and Carrie had kids. But, this would be a perfect assignment for this nifty little camera, hidden inside a fully functional DVD.
Although he could have just put a DVD disk in the deck and pressed record, he figured that Daisy would notice that little detail. If she really were stealing, she would probably avoid the camera. If not, she would probably stop the recorder, ruining the chance to prove her innocence.
So he used a self contained hidden cam containing camera & DVR. The hidden camera is “armed” by simply pressing the power button on the included IR remote control. No “tell-tale” extra lights or switches insure a totally covert system.
The DVD hidden cam has motion activated real time video or high-resolution “still shots” are recorded on a tiny SD card, housed in a hidden cams compartment and all recording are time/date stamped for professional security applications. John simply removed the SD card from the DVD player hidden camera and played the video surveillance on his PC via included SD card reader.
A week later, a grinning John held out a shiny DVD to Carrie. “Here it is,” he said. “You will never believe where your stuff has been going.”
John cued up the video to earlier that afternoon. The DVD Hidden Camera captured a crystal-clear image of Daisy vacuuming the living room. As she moved on down the hall to the dining room, a tiny face bounced into the frame. Little Michaela traipsed around the room, finally fixing her eyes on one of Carrie’s shiny silver frames.
She grabbed it, hugged it tight, and lifted up the couch cushion. There, she carefully laid it down with the other three missing picture frames.
John burst into laughter, and produced all four missing frames, while Carrie’s face grew red. “I am so embarrassed,” she said.
