Incidents at a Middle School buildings during the last two years have seen cars being stolen, a car being vandalized and several break-ins at the middle school.
Now, the school has experienced a bomb threat that was a careless action which affected hundreds of individuals along with their families that day. School officials determined that if video surveillance cameras were in place, video recording playback may have helped law enforcement’s investigation.
Worse incidents could have happened than what occurred at a High School last week. Officials are now taking necessary steps to add video surveillance cameras now to increase the safety of it’s students.
After receiving a bomb threat, School Board officials have decided to install video surveillance cameras in the parking lot and hallways at the High School and Middle School. The bomb threat at the high school appeared to be real which proves the need for advanced video surveillance systems.
In addition to this School sporting events are requiring the need for advance video surveillance equipment.
Very few people know how the sports world is using a surveillance video camera in the realm of sports.
The is a term now used in sports called “sports rage” and it directly regarding an incident that a happened in an ice rink. What happened was that after a game between mite (6-8-year-olds) teams from the Masconomet and Salem-Swampscott youth hockey programs, father Jordan Waldman of Swampscott grabbed and shook one of his son’s 8-year-old teammates to death by the name of Cameron Byrne, after the boy and Waldman’s son engaged in an on-ice shoving match, according to witnesses.
Following the incident, Jordan Waldman, 51, was banned from the Valley League and was arraigned on Feb. 25, 2005 on the charge of assault and battery on a child.
Manager of the Kasabuski Arena in Saugus and the director of the North Suburban Hockey League, John Hatch decided to install a nearly $5,000 electronic surveillance system was not sparked by the Peabody incident. He said he decided to monitor all the public areas of the arena, including the ice, bleachers, and locker room hallway after a spectator had her pocketbook stolen when she briefly left her seat. He used good video surveillance camera setup that was state of the art.
Hatch installed the surveillance cameras for theft and stated that if he had a camera there and something happened he could look at the tape and and prove the incident took place and prosecute the offender.
